A First Without Mom

 Okay, so please forgive the melancholy post the evening before my birthday.  It is kind of weird that this will be the first time that I've celebrated this event without my mom. In the months following my mom's passing last year I listened to this Edwin Mccain s song multiple times while reminiscing.

It's a beautiful tune and tonight I'm enjoying listening, sipping wine, enjoying this beautiful Florida evening, thinking about my mom and at the same time am incredibly grateful for my beautiful family and friends Wishing you a great night :-)

So without further a do;

Paul Williams & The Rainbow Connection

In 1979 I thought this was a pretty ok movie with a magical song. The song written by Paul Williams, who I got to meet years later when he signed my original Muppet Move album. His son and daughter attended the boarding  where I worked.

Rainbow connection was the song Joey sang when auditioning for the production of Oliver, at the New London Barn Playhouse. The audition landed him the role of Oliver at a Summer Stock Theater production.

It is a special song that has found a way to be relevant for a lot of years in my life. I suspect it continues to have meaning for many of my dear friends.,

I Remember Where

My birthday is on the horizon, so I have been reflecting on a lot of things. I can't tell you the date, but I remember when I was glued to a seat listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash perform Suite Judy Blue Eyes.   I thought it was the most amazing piece of work I had ever heard. Honestly, I had forgotten that Stephen Stills is most likely one of the most talented people to ever have walked the planet. Do the math.
